Find Peace Through Prayer and Gratitude

Peace is elusive when anxiety takes hold. We lose sight of God’s presence. Our stomach is in knots, and we’re too stressed out to focus or get peaceful sleep. Prayers for anxiety can change all of that. They comfort an anxious heart.

Cultivating gratitude and seeking Divine peace helps restore a natural, spiritual, and mental calm. Come and engage in meditative prayer for peace and experience a meaningful transformation.

Bible Verses On Anxiety

In God’s word, we find so many places where He tells us to rest in Him. To let go of our fears and to give it all to Him. He offers His loving care and the presence of the Holy Spirit to sustain you. Pray through these verses and prayers, and trust God to grant you the inner peace you crave.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10, ESV

...casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7, ESV

…do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?...Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Matthew 6:25-26, 34, ESV

Do Not Be Anxious. Make Your Requests Known To God

Enter into thoughtful prayer and meditation with confidence, knowing that God cares about your fears and wants to wipe them away. Lay your concerns at the feet of Jesus and be filled with a spirit of peace.

Christian Prayers For Anxiety: Overcoming The Fear With Divine Light

Prayer is communication with God, a direct connection from you to the throne room of heaven. Our prayers are a welcome incense to God, He wants to hear and comfort you. Take a deep breath and cultivate an awareness of Spirit before praying and meditating; be open to hearing what He says.

Prayer For General Anxiety and Worry

…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7, ESV

Philippians 4 is likely the most well-known scripture about anxiety, but just before this section, in verse 4, we find the precursor to that peace: “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.” In the fog of anxiety, it’s difficult to rejoice. But remember, there is always cause to rejoice “in the Lord.”

Heavenly Father, the fear is overwhelming. I can’t see through the fog. I know you value me above the lilies of the field. I know you are the great Comforter. Help me rejoice in You in spite of my fear. Bring me your peace that passes all understanding. Amen.

Prayer For Anxiety About The Future

Carrying a fear of tomorrow robs us of the joy we could have today. Live in the present moment, expressing gratitude for what is real, what is true, and what is right in front of you. “…do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” (Matthew 6:34, ESV)

Dear God, I don’t know what will happen tomorrow or the day after that. I don’t know the outcome of the things happening today. I do know that you hold the future in the palm of your hand. I do know that you are good, and holy, and just—no matter what.

Dear Lord, your peace that passes understanding is elusive. Help me experience your Divine Presence. Instill in me a sense of calm. Renew my soul and grant me peace, in spite of my fears. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Prayer For Anxiety About Illness

We are spiritual beings trapped in a cursed, physical body. Even with the latest medical advances, that body often fails us. God has proven He is Jehovah-Rapha, the Healer.

He wants to hear our prayers for healing, like James says,

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

James 5:16, ESV

Lord God, you are the Creator of life and all things on this Earth. You made the bodies we live in, and you know how they work. I pray for healing and physical restoration. Grant the doctors wisdom as they try to help. I call on your compassion and mercy to renew my body to be the best it's ever been. Amen.

Prayer For Anxiety and Trusting God

Our ways are not always God’s ways, but He designed us to be spiritual beings with strong desires. When God’s ways and our desires cannot be reconciled, we must trust in His Divine Wisdom and rest in Him.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6, ESV

God, I acknowledge your sovereignty. If what I want is not in your plan, grant me new, Spirit-filled desires. Help me bring you glory in spite of my fears. Help me rest in your Divine Presence and experience true, inner peace. God, I love you. I trust you. Help my unbelief. Amen.
